Al igual que la SN 2012 dn, esta imagen fue obtenida unos minutos antes mostrando un brillo similar, aprox mag. 14,8.

De la galaxia huesped la ESO 443-080, casi ni noticias apenas se deduce algo. En la imagen con SN marcada, como maximo se ven estrellas de mag 17.
